 About IPP

The main objective of Vodafone Chair Mobile Communications Systems at TU Dresden is carrying out leading-edge research which adds to the advancement of wireless communications technology, by working on industry relevant problems related to next generation wireless systems. Thorough fundamental research as well as close industry cooperation are key to the success of our projects.

Since major market players, e.g. network operators, system vendors, and equipment manufacturers have different view on challenges and solutions, it is highly important that each of these viewpoints are addressed in the research work, to ensure that the results have practical relevance and significance. Hence our research has been subject to public and industrial interest.

The Industry Partner Program (IPP) was introduced to facilitate a platform for companies to sustain close contact to on-going research activities at our chair.
This sponsoring program provides an opportunity for companies
  • to support our research activities,
  • to enhance teaching, e.g. by giving guest lectures,
  • to present themselves to students, e.g. by holding workshops and seminars,
  • to get in closer touch with our researchers, and
  • to obtain first hand updates on our activities.
As a thank our IPP members will receive
  • our newsletter „Dresden Mobile“ three times a year with information on
    • recent research activities,
    • new research projects,
    • researchers and students,
    • current student projects and master-/diploma theses,
    • abstracts of completed master-/diploma theses,
    • new co-operations with industry, and
  • an invitation to our annual IPP event.
If you are interested in more details on the benefits of our IPP program, please send an e-mail request to: ipp@ifn.et.tu-dresden.de .

We welcome every new IPP-member.

Our Industry Partner Program is based on similar programs in the USA and UK, which have proved to be a successful networking platform for exchange and cooperation between companies and universities.
